EAST BRUNSWICK: Daniel Pearl Education Center to show 'A Mighty Heart'

Temple B’nai Shalom’s Daniel Pearl Education Center, in cooperation with Paramount Vantage Pictures and MegaMovies at Brunswick Square Mall, will host the U.S. premiere showing of "A Mighty Heart".

The much-anticipated film, based on the memoir by Mariane Pearl, covers the capture of her husband, Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, by extremists, the intense efforts to find him and his eventual murder. The movie stars Academy Award-winner Angelina Jolie as Mariane Pearl.

This special premiere will take place 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with welcomes from special guests. “A Mighty Heart” opens nationwide on Friday.

The Daniel Pearl Education Center at Temple B’nai Shalom, Old Stage and Fern Roads, is dedicated to the ideals of coexistence, tolerance and understanding of the late Daniel Pearl. Activities of the Daniel Pearl Education Center include:

  • An annual trip to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum for Temple B’nai Shalom’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah class and the eighth grade class at East Brunswick’s St. Bartholomew’s parochial school
  • In celebration of Daniel Pearl World Music Days, a global celebration, hosting of a unique, community-wide musical program
  • A videotaping program of area Holocaust survivors by temple teens
  • Daniel Pearl scholarships to graduating seniors at East Brunswick High School and Temple B’nai Shalom.
Admission to the movei screening is free to anyone joining the Friends of the Daniel Pearl Education Center with a minimum donation of $25.
